A craft of patience

Lakumosofas Upholstery is a small Cork studio devoted to the slow, careful art of giving furniture a second life. We take fewer projects so we can give each one the attention it deserves.

Our story

Founded in 2008 over a single tired armchair.

Lakumosofas upholstery began when our founder, Subiso, restored his grandmother’s wingback chair — the one she always read in. A neighbour saw it. Then her sister. Then a hotel concierge. Eighteen years on, we’ve restored more than 2,400 pieces.

We still believe what we believed then: a piece of furniture you love is worth saving. Every frame tells a story, and the right fabric is just the next chapter.

Our values

Craftsmanship, honestly priced.

01.

Patience

We take the time good work demands. No shortcuts, no compromises on the unseen layers.

02.

Honesty

Transparent quotes, realistic timelines, and frank advice — even if it means saying no.

03.

Beauty

Functional, yes. But also exquisite. Furniture should bring joy every time you sit.

Our  workshop sits in the heart of Cork  — a quiet, well-lit space full of fabric, frames, and the steady rhythm of staple guns and sewing machines.
